Diana Misim’s mission to strengthen gender equality & inclusion for women is carried out by the following social responsibility projects. She has combined her passion for sailing with the excitement of racing, and turned it into Turkey’s first Women’s Sailing Cup dream
Diana Misim organized the Mermaid National Women’s Sailing Cup with support from her partners, and donated the trophy income to the Mother & Child Education Foundation (AÇEV) – a leading foundation in Turkey supporting women and families. The Mermaid National Women’s Sailing Cup (held for the first time in Turkey in 2016 with the cooperation of the Turkish Sailing Federation) is in its 7th year, and has become an International Cup as of 2020. The Cup aims to support and develop women’s interest in sailing, to train new athletes, and to increase the public’s interest in sailing. The Cup also creates a platform in the corporate arena to improve the ability of women in business life to form a team, reach goals, embrace the challenges, fight difficult conditions and unite with the nature.
